HAITI RELIEF EFFORTS
During the late afternoon of Tuesday, January 12, a major earthquake struck Haiti. Measuring 7.0, with several after-shocks measuring close to 6.0 on the Richter scale, the quake was centered 10 miles outside the 3-million resident capital city of Port au Prince.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families as well as those who are on the front lines of the relief efforts there. Below are resources for anyone wishing to donate or provide assistance in Haiti following the devastating earthquake that struck near Port au Prince on Jan 12, 2010.
Red Cross - You can help immediately by donating to the Red Cross to assist the relief effort. Contribute online at http://american.redcross.org/supporthaiti, or donate $10 to be charged to your cell phone bill by texting "HAITI" to "90999."
