Parking is free in City-owned parking garages and metered surface parking lots after 12 noon on December 31st. Other parking garages offer a variety of pricing.

On-street parking is allowed, except if there is a Winter Parking Ban. When a winter storm is approaching or underway, cars must be moved off of the all City streets by 10:00 PM in residential areas, and by 12:00 AM in the downtown business district.

For convenience purposes, free parking is provided by the University of Vermont at the Gutterson Parking Garage on the UVM Campus, where free shuttles will run to and from downtown between 11:00 AM and 12:30 AM courtesy of the City of Burlington and the Chittenden County Transportation Authority.
