Submitting an Application:

Don't know which application to use? Not sure what else is required? Please call or visit the Department of Planning and Zoning office with questions about your project so we can help you with your application.
The application must include:
- The property owner's name, mailing address, daytime telephone number, and signature.
- The applicant's name, mailing address, daytime telephone number, and signature.
The application must include payment of ALL fees:
- Payments by check, bank check, and cash are accepted.
- Make checks payable to the City of Burlington.
- Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Mail or drop the application off at the Planning and Zoning office in City Hall. Faxed applications can not accepted because they lack payment.

Request Forms:

Form	Use
Zoning Certificate of Occupancy Request	Once a project is complete, use this form to request issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy. Submit the form to the Code Enforcement Office at 645 Pine Street with fee payment. Make check payable to the City of Burlington.
Expired/Relinquish Zoning Permit	Use this form to certify that the project for which a zoning permit was issued was not built and the permit has Expired, or there is no intention to build the project while the permit is valid (Relinquish). Submit the form to the Code Enforcement Office at 645 Pine Street. There is no fee.
Zoning Compliance Request	Use this form to request a search of the zoning permit files to determine if all zoning permits are in order for a property, and if all requirements or conditions have been met. Submit the form to the Code Enforcement Office at 645 Pine Street with fee payment. Make check payable to the City of Burlington.
Zoning Complaint Report	Use this form to report an alleged violation the Burlington's Zoning Ordinance. Submit the complaint to the Code Enforcement Office at 645 Pine Street.
